During my rest days, there are only 4 things that I usually do... I read books, listen to music, watch cable TV(I am not that into local TV shows, not that most are tastelessly done, but only the local news catches my interest most of the time. I don't even watch foreign TV series that much either), blog and bloghop, or sleep.
I don't like going to the malls, The only time I go to malls is when I am going to do grocery shopping or if I am going to buy something specific, like clothes, gadgets, or something I need. If I need to lounge outside my condo, the mall is the last place you'll see me. I usually hangout at less crowded places or where I can watch people and just let time pass by. I don't like going out at all. If ever I have the itch to do a street shoot, I always look for a place where there are less people, and I do it usually on Mondays. I hate crowded places.
I bought a 500GB portable hard drive last Saturday in the Photoworld 2011 expo. The hard drive was originally priced at P3,700, and was on sale for P2,900... What a bargain, right?! So I bought it right away, plus it's a limited edition design; it's not Mac ready 'though, meaning I have to reformat it. When I got home, I quickly plugged it in, reformat it, and transferred all my music files, ebooks, and jpegs to their new home. I was able to free up a lot of space in my Mini's drive, from a mere 1.2 GB free now to 17GB free.
With this new drive of mine I can now shoot in RAW format when I photograph. t is not necessary to shoot RAW all the time, but what I notice is that when I shoot landscapes in jpeg format, the horizon's color transition is not that pretty. For example, a sunset photograph that has several orange hues, from bright orange to rusty orange, the color transition of hues does not blend in nicely. According to the internet, it is because of the compression, so therefore, shooting in RAW format is the solution.
I miss shooting photographs. Inspiration has not visited me for a long time now.
I'm not a mall person either. I prefer places where I could actually think especially when I go there alone...
ReplyDeletegood luck with your photography. it becomes a little frustrating- waiting for an inspiration that may took a long while to come, but that's okay. inspiration will come when it wants to. Afterall, it's not wise to rush or force art...
thanks for the comment... and deathcab is epic! :) peaceout
